Colon Arrested On Felony Charges
Tragic accident that occurred on Monday, December 7 at about 1:20 AM in Newburgh, New York. One person was tragically killed when the van that they were a passenger in crashed after fleeing a burglary. Police respond to a burglary at Big Boyz Toys and attempted to block a van driven by 27-year-old Louis Colon from leaving. Managing to flee the scene, Colon ran a red light at the intersection of South Robinson Avenue and South Williams St. traveling as high as 90 mph. He struck another vehicle at the intersection, hit parked cars, and rolled over after striking a utility pole. The passenger sadly died at the scene. Colon was arrested on felony charges of second-degree manslaughter and first-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer. additional charges are expected to be filed.
