Willis Sands was fatally injured when he was hit by a minivan on State Route 354. The volunteer firefighter was crossing to return to his residence when he was hit by a northbound minivan. Sadly, Sands was declared deceased at the site of the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the incident and ask anyone with information to contact them at 860-465-5400.
