Tragic accident that occurred on November 8 in Newport, North Carolina. William Guthrie Jr. lost his life in a hit-and-run crash in the 1300 block of Nine Foot Road. Residents in the area were asked to check their camera footage for any evidence of the hit-and-run. Anyone with information should call the NC State Highway Patrol district office at 252-726-5766. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
