Stanford Clark was seriously injured when a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck struck a pedestrian along the northbound lanes of Interstate 29. The truck then collided with a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, causing that vehicle to hit a second pedestrian, pinning him between the Chevrolet and 1998 GMC Yukon. The second pedestrian, 58-year-old Stanford W. Clark, suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
