Merle Rather Killed In East Village, NY Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on February 5 in East Village, New York. Merle Ratner was fatally struck by a tow truck in the Alphabet City section of the East Village. The crash occurred when a 59-year-old tow truck driver made a left turn off Avenue C and crashed into 67-year-old Merle Ratner, who, officials say, was crossing East 10th Street. Tragically, Ratner died from injuries sustained in the collision. The NYPD Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
