Mary Thompson Killed In Clinton, NC Accident

Collision along US 421

Tragic accident that occurred on February 26 in Clinton, North Carolina. Mary Thompson was one of two people who lost their lives in a collision with a dump truck along U.S. 421. A Nissan was traveling south when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a northbound dump truck hauling a trailer. The Nissan entered a ditch and the truck overturned on top of it. A passenger, 74-year-old Mary Elizabeth Thompson, was pronounced dead after the accident. State troopers continue to investigate the cause of the wreck.
