Joseph Ruiz Figueroa Killed In Ocala, FL Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on February 24 in Ocala, Florida. Joseph Ruiz-Figueroa was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident on Martin Luther King Jr. Ave and Northwest 22nd Street. Ruiz-Figueroa was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was hit by a pickup truck hauling a boat trailer with a boat. James Calvin Newson allegedly fled the scene after the collision. However, investigators found a license plate at the crash scene and traced it to Newson, who was picked up at his home and later charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving a fatality. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
