Joseph Parr was seriously injured when the SUV he was a passenger in struck a Toledo Fire & Rescue Department truck at the intersection of Monroe Street and Auburn Avenue. He was traveling in an SUV operated by 43-year-old James Carter Junior. The SUV traveled left of center, striking Ladder 17 as it was making a turn on a green light. The car struck a utility pole after hitting the fire truck and both men had to be extricated. Parr was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and Carter died in the accident.
