Pedestrian killed in crosswalk collision on Van Nuys Boulevard

A tragic accident occurred on May 4 in Van Nuys, California, when a pedestrian was struck by a Mercedes-Benz driven by 40-year-old Jose Maranon. Authorities said the victim was in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision and died at the scene. Maranon allegedly fled after the crash but was later arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run. The investigation is ongoing. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
