A tragic accident occurred on July 7 near Coalinga, California, when Isaias Ruiz, a UC Merced soccer player, was killed in a collision with a semi-truck. The crash happened on Interstate 5 near Highway 198. Ruiz, a freshman from Mendota, was remembered as a positive and valued member of the campus. A GoFundMehas been launched to assist with funeral expenses. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
