Dominic and Kimberly Smith Killed In Watseka, IL Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on Saturday, December 26 in Watseka Illinois. 55-year-old Dominic Smith, and his 60-year-old wife Kimberly Smith both died in a two vehicle collision at the intersection of County Road 1400 N. and 1500 E. 18-year-old Blake Martell was driving southbound when he ran through a stop sign colliding with Smith’s car. The crash sent both vehicles into a nearby field off of the roadway. The Smith's were both ejected from the car and sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Martell and a 17-year-old passenger we’re also ejected out of their car and later airlifted to Carle Foundation Hospital for treatment. Dominic Smith served as a Champaign firefighter for 16 years.
