Derrick Gil Injured In Largo, FL Accident

DUI accident along East Bay Drive and N. Missouri Avenue

Tragic accident that occurred on May 18 in Largo, Florida. Derrick Gil was one of three people injured when an alleged impaired driver slammed into their ambulance. Deputies pulled over a 2014 BMW X1 along Seminole Boulevard when the driver fled. Shortly after, the vehicle collided with an ambulance at the intersection of East Bay Drive and N. Missouri Avenue. The ambulance overturned onto its side. The driver of the ambulance suffered life-threatening injuries. He was later identified as 25-year-old Derrick Gil. The 41-year-old driver of the BMW, a man, was arrested on suspicion of three counts each of DUI with serious bodily injury, reckless driving with serious bodily injury, and fleeing and eluding with serious bodily injury.
