Darrell Elkin Killed In Clear Lake, IL Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on January 16 in Clear Lake, Illinois. Darrell Elkin was killed along Interstate 55 when he was driving a vehicle south and was rear-ended by a truck pulling a trailer. Traffic had been slowing due to an unrelated crash; however, officials said the truck failed to reduce the speed and caused the rear-end collision.  The impact pushed Elkin’s vehicle and two other cars off the roadway. Officials cited the truck driver for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The Sangamon County Coroner and the Illinois State Police are investigating.  We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
