Driver arrested after fatal hit-and-run involving Jeep passenger

A tragic accident occurred on July 14 in Redwood City, California, when 32-year-old Lazaro Gregorio Chacajlux allegedly fled after his Ford pickup truck sideswiped a Jeep. Authorities said a 36-year-old Jeep passenger was run over and killed while attempting to stop Chacajlux. He surrendered to police and was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run resulting in death and gross vehicular manslaughter. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
