Juan Jr. Mejia Calvillo Killed in Desert Hot Springs, CA Accident

A tragic accident occurred on December 1 near Desert Hot Springs, California, when 20-year-old Juan Jr. Mejia Calvillo was fatally struck by a Chevrolet Camaro on Mountain View Road, north of Louisan Road. CHP investigators said the driver illegally crossed solid double yellow lines to pass a slower vehicle and hit Calvillo, who was seated on a skateboard and traveling south in the northbound lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
