Driver arrested after fatal suspected DUI collision

A tragic accident occurred on August 6 in Lake Forest, California, when Joel Obed MendezCamargo allegedly struck a man in his 70s at about 9:40 p.m. at El Toro Road and Via Ridgeline Road. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. MendezCamargo was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
