Driver arrested after alleged DUI hit-and-run crash at Elm Avenue and Seventh Street

A tragic accident occurred on April 11 in Coalinga, California, when Ernesto Salatiel Avina Rodriguez was arrested following a DUI-related crash involving a Chevrolet pickup truck and a Honda Accord at Elm Avenue and Seventh Street around 5:40 p.m. Police said the Honda driver was pinned inside the vehicle and taken to hospital. Rodriguez allegedly fled the scene but was later located and found with a BAC of 0.10%, according to authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
