Man dies after medical scooter struck in crosswalk

A tragic accident occurred on July 28 in Lucerne, California, when 92-year-old Monty Roy Kirkland was struck by a westbound Ford Taurus while riding a medical scooter across Highway 20 at First Avenue near Alpine Park. Kirkland was crossing in a marked crosswalk when the collision occurred. He died from his injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
