A tragic accident occurred on September 3 in South Gate, California, when 88-year-old Antonio Casanova Loira was struck by a vehicle shortly after 1 a.m. near State Street and Illinois Avenue. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from blunt trauma injuries. Authorities have not released details about the driver involved, and the incident remains under investigation.
