86-Year-Old Nora Raughan Injured In Riverhead, NY Accident

Multi vehicle wreck on Horton Avenue

Tragic accident that occurred on Wednesday, December 15 at around 2:59 PM in Riverhead, New York. 86-year-old Nora Raughan was seriously injured in a multivehicle accident on Horton Avenue. The victim was a passenger in a Buick driven by 85-year-old Patrick Welby that was traveling west on Reeves avenue. Welby apparently failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and was struck by a freight liner dump truck. The victim was airlifted to Stony Brook University hospital for treatment of major injuries. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
