Tragic accident that occurred on July 16th in Sonora, California. 86-year-old Leroy Keller was seriously injured when their pickup truck was hit head-on by a reportedly stolen truck along Highway 108. An officer attempted to pull over a stolen Ford F-350 when the truck accelerated and passed a vehicle crossing the double-yellow line of a no-passing zone. During the passing maneuver, the truck collided head-on with a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The Silverado subsequently collided with a 2016 Chevrolet Sonic and then hit an embankment. It then struck a 2018 Subaru Outback before coming to rest. The occupants of the Silverado, the Kellers, were airlifted to Doctors Medical Center and Memorial Medical Center with major injuries. The Ford driver, 49-year-old Joshua Kohl, was arrested and booked into Tuolumne County Jail on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon and passing over a divided highway, and causing injuries. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
