86-Year-Old Gwen Simmerman Killed in Guerneville, CA Accident

Woman struck while crossing Highway 116 intersection

A tragic accident occurred on May 5 in Guerneville, California, when 86-year-old Gwen Simmerman was struck by a Dodge Ram at the intersection of Armstrong Woods Road and Highway 116. Authorities said Simmerman was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when the collision happened. She was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The investigation is ongoing. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
