78-Year-Old Lionila Yerena Killed in Long Beach, CA Accident

Woman dies in suspected DUI collision

A tragic accident occurred on August 22 in Long Beach, California, when 78-year-old Lionila Yerena was killed in an accident involving an alleged drunken driver. According to authorities, a speeding Volvo struck the Chevrolet in which Yerena was a passenger around 2:40 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue. The Chevrolet overturned, and Yerena died at the scene. The Volvo driver was arrested on hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter charges. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
