Elderly Pedestrian Fatally Struck on Park Way

A tragic accident occurred on August 1 in Bakersfield, California, when 77-year-old Sheila Mae Barton was struck by a vehicle in the 2000 block of Park Way shortly after 1 p.m. She was taken to Kern Medical Center, where she died from her injuries the following day. Authorities have not released details about the driver. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
