74-Year-Old Danny Smith Injured In St. James, MN Accident

The accident remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on Tuesday March 16th at around 9 pm in St. James, Minnesota. 74-year-old Danny Ralph Smith was seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle on the 400 block of 1st Avenue South. He was struck by 25-year-old Daniel Romero Marquez who was reportedly blinded by the headlights of oncoming traffic. Mr. Smith was transported to the Mayo Clinic Health System in St. James for treatment, and was later airlifted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.  The incident remains under investigation. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
