72-Year-Old Josefina Sanchez Killed in Crest, CA Accident

Vehicle struck head-on on La Cresta Road; alcohol suspected

A tragic accident occurred on February 11 in Crest, California, when 72-year-old Josefina Sanchez of Ramona was killed after her 2012 Volkswagen Jetta was struck head-on by a Chevrolet Silverado on La Cresta Road near Coyote Ridge just before 3 p.m. Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene. The Silverado driver was hospitalized with major injuries. Authorities believe alcohol was a factor and continue to investigate. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
