69-Year-Old Rene Steiner Injured in Rancho Penasquitos, CA Accident

Struck by Poway Unified School District bus while walking dogs Tuesday morning

A tragic accident occurred on March 10 in Rancho Penasquitos, San Diego, when 69-year-old Rene Steiner was seriously injured after being struck by a school bus at Paseo Montalban and Via Cima Bella around 8:30 a.m. Steiner was walking his dogs when the bus, operated by a 76-year-old driver, hit him. He was rushed to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla with life-threatening injuries, including a skull fracture, subdural hematoma, multiple rib fractures, and bilateral pulmonary contusion. The accident remains under investigation. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim’s family.
