A tragic accident occurred on March 3 in Fresno, California, when 68-year-old Donald Burkes was struck and killed by an SUV near a bus stop at Ashlan Avenue and First Street. According to police, Burkes had stepped into the roadway when the vehicle hit him just before 1 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
