Pedestrian dies after chain-reaction five-vehicle crash

A tragic accident occurred on August 5 in Amarillo, Texas, when 67-year-old Richard Hayes was fatally injured in a chain-reaction, five-vehicle crash. Authorities said Hayes was one of three pedestrians struck after multiple vehicles collided, sending occupants into the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. Three others, including the Jeep driver, were injured. The Amarillo Police Department is investigating. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
