Susemiehl was injured in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 395 near Loon Lake. David was transported to Mount Carmel Hospital for treatment. One of them was 59-year-old Mark A. Susemiehl, who was also injured. The 23-year-old Deer Park driver lost control, struck a guardrail, and died at the scene.
