65-Year-Old Charles Blackmon Killed in Oakland, CA Accident

Man dies after being struck near International Boulevard and 85th Avenue

A tragic accident occurred on May 16 in Oakland, California, when 65-year-old Charles Blackmon was struck by a pickup truck while standing near East Bay Market & Liquor. Authorities said the vehicle was allegedly speeding before it drove onto the sidewalk during the crash. Blackmon was among multiple people killed, while others were injured. A 17-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run. The investigation is ongoing. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
