62-Year-Old Wayne Thomas Injured In Tonkawa, OK Accident

Construction worker struck on Southbound I-35

Tragic accident that occurred on March 25 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. 62-year-old construction worker Wayne Thomas was airlifted to a hospital after being hit by a vehicle off southbound Interstate 35. Thomas was working on the bridge embankment when he was hit by a Dodge Avenger that left the road. Authorities believe the driver of the Dodge, a 17-year-old Minnesota resident, fell asleep at the wheel before the crash. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
