Jeep plunged into Sweetwater River after freeway collision on I-5 South and CA-54 West connector

A tragic accident occurred on March 29 in Chula Vista, California, when 61-year-old Douglas Guyton allegedly rear-ended a Jeep on the I-5 South and California 54 West connector. The impact sent the Jeep over the freeway ledge into the Sweetwater River, killing both occupants at the scene. Guyton was arrested on suspicion of DUI and charged with murder.
