A tragic accident occurred on March 29 in National City, California, when 60-year-old Ignacio Pedroza was killed after his Jeep Liberty was rear-ended by a suspected drunk driver on State Route 54 to southbound Interstate 5. The impact pushed the vehicle into the Sweetwater River. One of the other victim, Monica Pedroza, also died in the incident. Authorities continue investigating.
