A tragic accident occurred on May 17 in east Bakersfield, California, when 59-year-old William Loyal Hattabaugh Jr. was fatally struck by a train. The incident happened around 7:32 a.m. near Edison Highway and Morning Drive. Hattabaugh Jr., a Bakersfield resident, died at the scene. Emergency personnel responded to the area and assisted at the crash site. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
