59-Year-Old Karen Swanson Killed in Discovery Bay, CA Accident

Woman dies after being struck by semi-truck

A tragic accident occurred on August 20 in Discovery Bay, California, when 59-year-old Karen Swanson was killed in a pedestrian accident involving a semi-truck. According to the California Highway Patrol, Swanson was struck by a tractor-trailer around 9:09 a.m. on U.S. Highway 101 at Orcas Drive and milepost 280. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 31-year-old semi-truck driver was uninjured. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
