58-Year-Old Santiago Sr. Killed in Santa Maria Valley, CA Accident

Fuel truck struck by Amtrak train

A tragic accident occurred on October 1 in Santa Maria Valley, California, when 58-year-old Santiago Saucedo Sr. was struck by an Amtrak Coast Starlight train near Highway 1 and Brown Road. Authorities said Saucedo’s fuel truck was crossing an uncontrolled railroad crossing without gates or warning lights when it was hit, causing a rollover and fuel spill. Sadly, Saucedo died at a hospital. We send our thoughts and prayers to his family.
