A tragic accident occurred on Feb. 25 in Compton, when 56-year-old Jose Navarette was killed in a hit-and-run accident at North Alameda and East Dixon streets. Despite life-saving efforts, he died at the scene. Authorities said the driver fled, and no vehicle description was immediately available. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
