Miller was speeding when he failed to negotiate a curve on US Highway 54 and ran into congested traffic caused by another accident. Seven of the nine occupants in the Ford, from age 10 to 74, sustained moderate injuries. Four were taken to a nearby hospital by Cole County EMS.
