Lowe was walking when he was hit by a white SUV believed to be a white Dodge Durango. The driver of the Durango stopped after the collision, exited the vehicle, and then jumped back in to drive away. The California Highway Patrol continues to search for the driver of the Durango. Lowe was remembered as a friendly and caring person.
