52-Year-Old Michael McGee Involved In Cherokee, IA Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on May 20th in Cherokee, Iowa. 52-year-old Cherokee police officer Michael McGee was cited for leaving the scene of an injury after allegedly striking a 6-year-old girl in the crosswalk at the intersection of North Roosevelt and East Indian Streets. McGee then allegedly fled the scene. The victim was rushed to Cherokee Regional Medical Center, then transferred to another hospital. McGee was cited for leaving or failing to return to the scene of an injury. The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
