The pedestrian was traveling east when an unknown vehicle struck him and fled the scene. The victim was found lying on the south shoulder and was airlifted to CRMC for treatment of major injuries. Officials believe that the vehicle is a 2015 Ford F 250 or 350 pick up truck. Anyone with information is asked to call the CHP Merced Area Office at 209-356-6600.
