Posted: 2 years ago
Tragic accident that occurred on Wednesday, June 2 at around 9:41 PM in Danville, Illinois. 52-year-old David Johnson was seriously injured in a multi vehicle chain reaction accident caused by a drunk driver on Interstate 74. 42-year-old Joseph Cast was traveling eastbound when his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a concrete bridge barrier. The car rebounded back into the roadway where it came to a rest. 63-year-old Jennifer Scott, who was operating a Ford F150 pick up truck towing a U-Haul trailer, struck the jeep, causing the U-Haul to separate from the pick up and hit a third oncoming vehicle. Johnson, who slowed down to avoid the wreck, was struck by the driver of a Dodge Durango.  Johnson’s SUV then struck Scott’s U-Haul trailer that had come free, causing his vehicle to overturn and land on the driver’s side. Johnson and his unnamed 17-year-old male passenger were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Cast was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and improper lane usage. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victims.
