51-Year-Old John Pearson Injured In Westmoreland, NY Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on Tuesday, December 7 in Westmoreland, New York. 51-year-old John Pearson was seriously injured in his front lawn after being struck by a vehicle that lost control. 21-year-old Elizabeth Slocum was traveling northbound when she attempted to pass another vehicle using the southbound lane, but was unsuccessful due to improper lane passing on safe speeds. When she attempted to re-enter the northbound lane she lost control of her Jeep, spun off the roadway, and struck the victim who was crossing their front lawn. Multiple other people were also struck and injured. The victim was taken to Saint Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver is facing several charges. The crash remains under investigation and we send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
