Driver arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence

Tragic accident that occurred on Wednesday, December 16 at around 8:19 PM in San Bernardino California. 48-year-old Ernestina Rivas was tragically killed in a chain reaction crash on Waterman Avenue at the intersection of Third Street. Rivas was waiting in her Toyota Camry at a red light at the time of the crash. Behind her was another Camry also waiting for the light change. A Chevy SUV driven by a 27-year-old man struck the Camry behind Rivas, causing a chain reaction that pushed her vehicle into the intersection where she was hit by a semi truck. Reimers was seriously injured and rushed to a local hospital where she sadly later died. The SUV was apparently driving at high rate of speed and running red lights just before the accident occurred. The driver of the SUV was arrested on charges of suspicion of driving under the influence and causing injury. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
