Cyclist succumbs to injuries 8 days after Dec. 19 collision on South California Avenue

Accident remains under investigation
Tragic accident that occurred on Saturday, December 19 at around 10:50 PM and Chicago Illinois. 47-year-old Demetrio Macias was struck and killed by a motor vehicle while riding his bicycle on South Carolina Ave. He was struck in the 5600 block and transported to Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment. He sadly passed away on Sunday. The accident remains under investigation. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
