45-Year-Old Jon Douglas Ratcliffe Killed In Lexington, SC Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on May 20 in Lexington, South Carolina. 45-year-old Jon Douglas Ratcliffe lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on Industrial Drive. A Lexington School District One school bus slowed to a stop, and the motorcycle traveling behind it also stopped. The van driver did not slow down in time, crashed into the bike, and then hit the back of the bus. This caused the motorcyclist, who was ejected upon the initial impact, to be pinned between the van and the bus. Tragically, Lexington resident Ratcliffe died from injuries at the scene. The van driver was arrested on multiple charges, including failure to stop when meeting or passing a stopped school bus. An investigation remains underway.
