A tragic accident occurred on March 14 in Bakersfield, California, when 42-year-old Pedro Contreras was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in the 200 block of Belle Terrace. Authorities said an unidentified woman was struck and killed after a vehicle left the roadway and fled the scene. Contreras now faces charges of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run causing death.
