Authorities said Kubiak was the driver of a 2011 Nissan Altima involved in a head-on collision with a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 on State Highway 90. The Dodge Ram, traveling north, attempted to pass another vehicle in the southbound lane and crashed into the Nissan. Tragically, Kubiak and two passengers were killed in the crash. A third occupant of the Nissan, Robert Qualley, was hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver of the Dodge Ram was also hospitalized. Charges are pending, and the investigation is ongoing.
