41-Year-Old Melissa Rack Killed In Austin, MN Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on December 30 in Austin, Minnesota. 41-year-old Melissa Rack lost her life in an alleged hit-and-run collision on Oakland Place SE. Austin Police Department was informed about a female lying in the roadway and despite life-saving measures, Rack could not be revived.  Police determined the debris and other evidence indicated Rack had been hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene. Officials apprehended a 35-year-old Austin man in connection to the crash. He was arrested on probable cause for violating Minnesota’s criminal vehicular homicide statute. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
